Our annual prize giving ceremony is an event where learners are awarded for their academic, sporting and cultural activities throughout the year. CBC Mount Edmund further awards learners who have shown progress, commitment and improvement in these different fields as well. Dedication and hard work is always important to growing the whole child, and awarding this ensures even greater diligence from learners. Parents, learners and staff members all attend to bare witness to all these accomplishments and the evening serves to be a great inspiration for all. The evening included an address by the College Principal, B. Langton, who mentioned that as a family school, we are focused on producing all rounded individuals who have strong
values at the core of their being.
The Chairperson of the Board of Governors, S. Naidoo, mentioned that during their strategic session, a new mission statement was agreed upon: “We are a proud faith-based family college, that cares about accompanying every child on their life journey towards achieving excellence”. The college head prefects Zeenat Patel and Mano Phala bid farewell to the high school with their final speeches. Zeenat mentioned that: CBC Mound Edmund will not be a place for schooling, but a place for education”. Mano gave a compelling speech on how “The human brain favours the number 3: morning, midday, evening; ready, set, go; Father, Son, Holy Spirit”. Two very interesting valedictory speeches from our leaders. Congratulations to our Honours Blazer ecipients: Anastascia Dias Goncalves, Nolita Mnisi, Tshegetso Xaba and Milena Plisic.
